Mexico is famous for its cliff divers. Every summer, hundreds of brave, bronzed, and slightly nuts divers go loco down in Acapulco by jumping 40 meters (130 feet) into the sea from the cliffs of La Quebrada. But one bridge over the River Tietê in São Paulo, Brazil, is famous for another strange diver. The out-of-place mannequin seems to be in a mid-yoga pose, perhaps meditating on whether she should jump.

And the lily-white model has good reason to be wary of entering the water. She is an installation to raise awareness about river pollution in the world's fourth-largest city.
