They Say the Dolls Come Alive at Night

If you're driving through Miyoshi Doll Village in Japan's southern Tokushima Prefecture, you'll probably be wise to put the pedal to the metal and keep driving! Yet, while this image is ripe for the plot of a Japanese horror movie, the story behind it is much more wholesome. Legend says that after many villagers died, Ayano Tsukimi created dolls in their likeness so their departed friends were always with them.

On second thought, knowing that the mannequins are based on actual people who have died makes it even creepier! We won't be visiting this place; no thank you.
